Wellington remodeling
and custom homes.

Wellington has grown fast, and most of its homes are now old enough to need their first real renovation. We design and build kitchens, baths, basements, and custom homes across Wellington and the acreage north of Fort Collins.

§ 01 · Building in Wellington

Wellington is mostly newer construction. Many homes were built in the last twenty-five years with unfinished basements, builder-grade kitchens, and primary baths sized to a budget rather than to the family that lives there now. That makes it one of the best towns in our footprint for basement finishes and kitchen upgrades.

The work here is rarely about fixing old framing. It's about turning a standard floor plan into a house that fits — adding a bedroom and bath downstairs, opening a closed kitchen, or replacing cabinetry that was never built to last.

§ 03 · Permits

Wellington permits,
handled start to finish.

The Town of Wellington adopted the 2024 International Codes with local amendments, effective January 1, 2026, along with Colorado's model electric- and solar-ready code and the state wildfire resiliency code. Permits are filed through the town's Community Core portal, and SAFEbuilt performs plan review and inspections on the town's behalf.

Basement finishes, additions, and remodels each have their own checklist in Wellington. For new homes, the town's amendments require foundation designs stamped by a Colorado-registered design professional and based on an engineer's soils report. We prepare the submittal and schedule every inspection.

Wellington sits on the same clay-rich Front Range soils that swell when wet and shrink when dry — the hazard the Colorado Geological Survey ranks as the state's most significant. Before we finish a basement, we look at the slab, the foundation walls, and drainage so the new walls float correctly and the finish lasts.

Larimer County also has high radon potential, so radon testing and mitigation coordination are part of every basement project we build in Wellington.
