§ Fort Collins · Larimer County

Fort Collins remodeling
and custom homes.

Old Town bungalows, Midtown ranches, and newer homes along the Harmony corridor all ask for different things. We design and build kitchens, baths, basements, and custom homes across Fort Collins — under one roof, with one accountable team.

§ 01 · Building in Fort Collins

Fort Collins is the anchor of our footprint and the city where the range of housing stock is widest. Within a few miles you'll find early-1900s homes near Old Town and Colorado State University, mid-century ranches with low basements and original mechanicals, and twenty-year-old subdivisions in the southeast that are now due for their first real kitchen and bath renovation.

Each of those calls for a different starting point. An older home usually means opening walls carefully and planning for what's behind them. A newer home usually means working around a builder-grade layout that never quite fit how the family lives. We scope for the house you actually have, not a generic template.

§ 03 · Permits

Fort Collins permits,
handled start to finish.

The City of Fort Collins Building Services division reviews plans, issues permits, performs inspections, and licenses contractors working in the city. Most remodels that move walls, add plumbing or electrical circuits, or finish a basement need a permit — and permit-exempt work still has to meet code.

Properties that are designated landmarks or sit in a historic district can also require review through the city's Historic Preservation Services before exterior changes. We check a property's status early so design decisions don't have to be reversed later.

Much of the Front Range sits on clay-rich soils and bedrock that swell when wet and shrink when dry. The Colorado Geological Survey calls expansive soil the state's most significant geologic hazard. For a basement finish or an addition, that shapes how we frame floating walls, handle drainage, and evaluate an existing foundation before we build on it.

Larimer County also carries a high radon potential, so testing and mitigation coordination are a standard part of every basement and foundation-adjacent project we take on here.

Questions we hear
in Fort Collins.

Do you work in Old Town and historic Fort Collins homes?

Yes. Older homes are a large share of our Fort Collins work. We check whether a property is a designated landmark or in a historic district before design, and we plan for what older framing, wiring, and plumbing typically look like behind the walls.

Does a basement finish in Fort Collins need a permit?

In almost every case, yes. Finishing a basement adds habitable space and usually involves framing, electrical, and often plumbing and egress — all of which are permitted and inspected through Fort Collins Building Services. We handle the submittal and inspections.

How long does a Fort Collins kitchen remodel take?

A cosmetic refresh can run a few weeks; a full renovation with new cabinetry and layout changes typically runs two to four months including design, permitting, and fabrication lead times. We give you a written schedule before work starts.

Is the first walk-through really free in Fort Collins?

Yes. The walk-through is free anywhere in our service area, and Fort Collins is the center of it. Expect 60 to 90 minutes on site.
